Computer Science Leadership Program

As part of Pando Education's commitments to equity and project-based learning, each participant will receive the same computer science kit for use during the CSLP program.

This kit represents the majority of the program's cost.

It will be used to complete their portfolio, and is theirs to keep for classroom or school use afterwards. It consists of a device, monitor, Adobe software licenses, 3D printer, Raspberry Pi, Arduino, and web hosting.

We are happy to introduce our school-year-long Computer Science Leadership Program (CSLP)!

Perfect for current (or aspiring) administrators, tech coaches, and computer science teachers, this year-long program offers a comprehensive curriculum that dives deep into a wide array of topics, including:

  • Website-building
  • Data dashboards
  • Graphic Design
  • 3D printing
  • Video editing
  • Raspberry Pi and Arduino
  • Task Automation
  • Python
  • Cybersecurity
  • AI

No prior coding experience is required, but participants will get hands-on experience in multiple languages!

Throughout the program, participants will learn practical skills through projects and assignments, receive personalized mentorship from experienced instructors, and build a portfolio of impressive work that will position them as CS leaders in any school, district, or county.

Upon completion, graduates will receive a certificate that demonstrates their proficiency in computer science and prepares them for a successful career in educational technology.

FAQs

This program is perfect for school systems seeking to enhance the capabilities of a targeted group of computer science leaders.

It’s also an excellent fit for current K-12 educators, tech coaches, and administrators who:

  • May not know how to code, but consider themselves tech savvy
  • Are currently in, or aspire towards, leadership positions in their school, district, or county
  • Have the space and capacity for a comprehensive, 9-month-long program
  • Have a view of technology as an empowering force that (i) drives evidence-based decisions, (ii) opens new possibilities for engagement and access, and (iii) creates innovative solutions.

The program costs $5,849. The majority of this fee is in the computer science kit, which includes materials that CSLP participants can keep and use with students in their classrooms and schools.

For individual purchasers, installment-based payment options are available.

While we would love to be able to offer the program at a lower price, we remain committed to providing the computer science kit for the following reasons:

  1. Equity. We believe that supplying critical program materials is essential in promoting equal opportunities for all learners, regardless of their background or circumstances.
  2. PBL Focus. Providing program materials is essential in promoting project-based learning, as the CS kit contains the necessary resources and structure for participant-led inquiry.
  3. Seeding Opportunities. We want the CSLP program to leave the boundaries of its virtual classroom. Supplying program materials is crucial in seeding a computer science library for its participants, which can in turn create a strong foundation for student learning.
  4. Instructional Design. Computer Science training is made more difficult when the learners are on different devices and operating systems. By supplying the learning materials ourselves, we can ensure smoother class facilitation and less student frustration.

We are proud to offer the most comprehensive curriculum around. Topics of the CSLP include:

  • Website-building
  • Data dashboards
  • Graphic design
  • 3D printing
  • Video editing
  • Raspberry Pi and Arduino
  • Task Automation
  • Python
  • Cybersecurity
  • AI

Each of these topics are further broken down into theory, strategy, and application, and hands-on experience is provided with relevant hardware, software, and web-based apps.

We know that circumstances arise, particularly over the course of a program this long. That’s why we record all sessions, and offer weekend office hours.

We schedule our cohorts based on typical need and instructor availability. That said, if there is significant demand for a weekend cohort, we would be happy to offer one. Please reach out through our Contact page if this is something you are interested in.

Not at all. We welcome novice coders, and are honored to be able to provide your first programming language experiences!
